Declining the invitation

If you will not bid, decline the invitation so the buyer is not left waiting. A reason is optional and it cannot be undone.

All topics for suppliers

If you will not bid on a tender, decline the invitation instead of staying silent. The buyer will not wait for your bid and can look for another company if needed.

Step by step

  1. Open the tender's Tender Details tab. At the top you see a card that says "If you will not bid on this tender, decline the invitation so the buyer is not left waiting."
  2. Click Decline Invitation.
  3. Optionally write your reason, for example "our capacity does not fit" (up to 300 characters).
  4. Confirm with Decline Invitation in the window.

The buyer receives a notification and an email; if you wrote a reason, it sees that too.

It cannot be undone

After declining, you cannot bid on this tender, and announcements such as addenda and reminders no longer reach you. If you change your mind, write a message to the buyer company; it can invite you again.

When you can decline

  • While the tender is in pre-qualification or collecting bids, before the bid deadline.
  • Only if you have not bid at all. If you have bid, withdraw your bid first: Updating and withdrawing a bid.
