Commercial terms: payment, delivery, shipping

See the supplier's payment terms, delivery time, shipping and warranty in the bid table and weigh them with criteria.

All topics for buyers

In a sealed bid, the supplier's bid form always has a Commercial Terms section: payment terms (days, 0 for cash), delivery time (days), shipping (included in price or excluded) and warranty (months). None of them is mandatory, and you do not need to set anything up.

The terms the supplier fills in appear as columns next to the price in the summary table of the Received Bids tab, and on the bid card. A column no bid has filled in is not shown.

Good to know

The terms are not part of any calculation. The ranking, the price score and the "Best Bid" badge look only at the price the supplier quoted.

How do I weigh the terms

If payment terms or delivery time matter for your decision, add them as an evaluation criterion, for example "Payment terms 20%" or "Delivery time 15%". After the envelopes open you score each bid on these criteria and the ranking follows the total score. Details: Evaluation criteria.

If you have a specific expectation (for example "at least 60 days' payment terms"), write it in the tender description; the supplier sees it when bidding.

Tip

If a supplier wrote its terms in the note or a document instead of the form, you can correct them or have AI read them after the envelopes open: Correcting bid terms and reading them with AI.
